Comdel Europe Moves to Larger,
State-of-the-Art Facility

Gloucester, Massachusetts, October 16, 2001—Comdel's European operations move to a modern, fully equipped 11,000 square foot facility to meet the increased demand for production, R&D, and testing capabilities in the region.

The new state-of-the-art facility in Hook, Hampshire, England has been custom designed to Comdel's requirements, including additional space for an R&D lab, testing area, and expanded office space. The office has installed a sophisticated telecom and computer network system to offer virtual 24-hour support for customers, as well as offering faster technical support features.

With the increased demand for specialized dielectric machines for the medical, textile and paper industries and induction systems for metal hardening, annealing, and shrink fitting, Comdel began the search for larger space in March. The expanded facility consists of a 9,000 square foot workshop area comprising a machine shop, application lab, repair, assembly and test areas. In addition to the research lab, a second lab will be dedicated to customer application trials.

“Our goal is to provide superior service to our customers by expanding our production and R&D capabilities, automating some of our operations, and ultimately shortening lead times for our customers,” said Steve Ottaway, Director of European Operations for Comdel, “In addition, with our improved lab facilities we can investigate new applications for RF power and opportunities to penetrate new markets.”

Comdel acquired Electrotechnical Engineering in April of 2000 in a move to strengthen the Comdel brand throughout the European markets. Comdel's facility in the UK not only offers a full range of service and support to Comdel's US operations, but has expanded into the design and manufacture of RF applications for food processing, paper drying and textile manufacturing.

Comdel, headquartered in Gloucester, Massachusetts, designs, develops and manufactures innovative, high quality RF power systems for leading companies in semiconductor, metal heat-treating, food cooking and drying, dielectric heating, medical lasers, and thin film markets. Its RF power systems offer the market’s best power and frequency range, and are backed by an industry-leading research and development design department. Comdel, which is ISO 9001 certified, is a subsidiary of Inductotherm Industries, Inc., New Jersey.
