Comdel Opens Branch Office in Japan

Gloucester, Massachusetts, October 12, 2004 - Comdel, Inc., trusted supplier of RF and DC power supplies to the semiconductor, thin film, and industrial heating markets, makes a long-term commitment to Japanese customers by opening a branch office in Chiba, Japan. Simultaneously, Comdel Japan entered into a strategic agreement to provide service and application support through PRA Co. Ltd., expanding Comdel's local repair and development resources.

Katsumi Sakamoto was named president of Comdel Japan. Sakamoto has over 20 years of engineering experience in electronics equipment and power supplies as prior director of Sanki Planning and through previous positions with Advanced Energy, Lam Research, and Applied Materials. Sakamoto will also provide engineering and application support throughout Asia for Comdel's Asian offices and local distributors.

“Sakamoto not only brings his technical experience to his new role, but also three years of experience as a Comdel representative through Sanki Planning,”said Jim Usher, Vice President of Japan and Asian Operations for Comdel Inc. “The relationships that he has established and the excellent reputation for support will prove invaluable to our Japanese customers as they seek to improve equipment uptime and manage costs.”

Mamoru Ozawa, an industry veteran, was recently appointed as director of PRA Co. Ltd., and will be directly involved in developing new business opportunities and expanding Comdel's customer relations in Japan. Ozawa has over 20 years experience in the semiconductor equipment industry, adding additional business relationships and skills to the team. PRA, an established support company, also services a variety of RF and DC generators and impedance matching networks for both OEM's and end users within the semiconductor industry.
