Comdel
Acquires UK RF Power Supplier to
Expand European Market Presence
Gloucester, Massachusetts—Comdel, a leading manufacturer of radio frequency (RF)
power supplies, announces acquisition of Electrotechnical Engineering Ltd., of Hampshire,
England, in a move to strengthen the Comdel brand and broaden distribution of its product
line throughout European industrial markets.
According to Ted Johnson, President and CEO of Comdel, “We have been seeking
strategies to best position Comdel for further penetration into the European marketplace.
Electrotechnical Engineering offers us, and our customers, a strong reputation for
engineering and service excellence, and a key foundation of future growth.”
Comdel’s current Hampshire facility will be enlarged to provide a full range of
capabilities, including research and development, manufacturing, and servicing and support
of RF power systems. In addition, Comdel will expand its applications development
activities in dielectric heating for food processing, paper drying and textile
manufacturing.
Electrotechnical Engineering Ltd. is a fully owned subsidiary of Comdel. Its former
owner, Steve Ottaway, will remain with the company and serve as Managing Director of the
subsidiary. Ottaway reports to Ted Johnson, Comdel President and CEO.
